James Neal Dozier is a native of Columbus, Georgia and a graduate of Columbus High School.

He graduated from Auburn University in 1962 achieving ODK, Who's Who, and president of Auburn's "A" club.

 

He served in the U.S. Navy for six years, earned the Navy pilot wings, and landed on the USS Intrepid, which was decommissioned in 1974 and is now berthed on the Hudson River as the centerpiece of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

 
 
 

After a thirty-one year airline career and a fifteen year general aviation career, Jim retired with over twenty thousand hours of flight time in forty-nine years of flying. He currently lives in Auburn and is married to Cathy, an Auburn graduate and former flight attendant. They have three daughters and four grandchildren. Jim is a charter member of the Wellreadneck Book Club, a diversified group of readers and authors in Auburn.
